The David Watt Prize 2006

This prize for journalism is a tribute to man widely regarded as one of the UK's outstanding writers. It was introduced in 1988 to commemorate the life and work of David Watt.

To be eligible, entries must have been published in English during the calendar year 2005. Entries must, in the opinion of the judging panel, have made an outstanding contribution towards the clarification and understanding of national, international or global issues.

The prize was established by Rio Tinto plc in 1988. Its value this year has been increased to ₤10,000.
