KICA Essay Contest: Japanese Culture, My View

As an event to promote greater understanding between Japanese citizens and their non-Japanese residents, Kyoto International Cultural Association will hold its annual essay contest on the views of Japanese culture and everyday life
 Those interested in Japanese culture, specialists and non-specialists alike, are welcome to write about their personal experiences in Japan or to compare Japanese culture to that of their own.
 The essay must be original and not yet published.

What's new this year?

  1. The application deadline is June 30, 2006 postmarked.
  2. The selection of essays will be divided into Japanese and English.
  3. The six best essays will be awarded KICA Prizes (\50,000 each), and each author is expected to give a fifteen-minute oral presentation on September 24, 2006 in Kyoto.
  4. E-mail submissions with attached files will also be accepted. The preferred formats are Microsoft Word, Rich Text and Text format.
