UNCCD photo contest 2006

UNCCD, the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, is launching a photo contest to promote the "International Year of Deserts and Desertification" in 2006. A jury of eminent personalities will select the best three photos that conceptually and artistically depict the problem of land degradation or of people affected by it. With the generous support of a group of exclusive sponsors the following prizes will be offered:

Second prize


US$ 2,000

Prize of distinction


no monetary award

All three winners will be invited to travel to Nairobi, Kenya, to attend an award ceremony at the seventh United Nations conference on desertification (COP 7), in October, 2005.
